State Licensing Information

Connecticut

  • Total hours: 90 minimum – 120 minimum
  • 60 hours of Principles & Practices
  • 15 hour course in Real Estate Legal Compliance
  • 15 hour course in Real Estate Brokerage Principles & Practices
  • Two 15-hour electives or have successfully completed a cumulative total of at least 20 real estate transactions during the previous five years

Rhode Island

  • Applicant must be at least 18 years old
  • Completion of 45 hours of Sales Pre-license training & 3 hours of Agency Law
  • Completion of 3-hour Lead Paint Hazards/Awareness course
  • A passing grade on the state licensing exam (70% or higher)
  • A criminal history record to the R.I. Department of Business Regulation
  • Broker signature on application
  • E&O Insurance (typically through your broker)
  • Applicable application fees

MASSACHUSETTS

  • 40 hour course
  • Be at least 18 years old and have a valid social security number
  • Take the 40 hour Massachusetts real estate course either online or in person
  • Apply to take the real estate license test using your course completion certificate
  • Pass the 120 question Massachusetts real estate license test either online or in person
  • Pay applicable application fees

FLORIDA

  • 63 hours
  • Be at least 18 years old and have a valid social security number.
  • Must hold a high school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Take the 63 hours pre-license education for sales associates.
  • Apply to take the real estate license test using your course completion certificate.
  • A passing grade on the state licensing exam (75% or higher).
  • Applicable application fees.

NEW HAMPSHIRE

  • 40 hours
  • Be at least 18 years old and have a valid social security number.
  • Take the 40 hour New Hampshire real estate course either online or in person.
  • Apply to take the real estate license test using your course completion certificate.
  • Pass the 120 question New Hampshire real estate state licensing exam.
  • Pay applicable application fees.

MAINE

  • Complete the 55 hour Sales Agent Course with a grade of 75% or above
  • Pass the Pearson VUE qualifying with a score of 75% or above
  • Apply to the Maine Real Estate Commission
  • Be at least 18-years old at the time of license application
  • Hold a high-school diploma (or the equivalent)
  • Have a reputation for honesty, truthfulness, fair-dealing, and competency
